Christmas is Everyday’s next wrap party is May 21st at 6:00 pm. CIE is a Grace Church project to support our troops overseas in the Gulf region. Part of that program is to celebrate Christmas everyday instead of once a year. Monthly, a dedicated group of volunteers prepare Care packages for our service members. We meet in the Parish Hall and wrap all of the gifts in Christmas paper. Bring your scissors and all other items are provided. Contact Kathy Michaels at 898-1650 if you have any questions.

Breakfast at St. Paul’s: Please consider giving one Sunday morning this year and join Grace Outreach in preparing and serving breakfast to the homeless at St. Paul’s Church in downtown Newport News. Our next scheduled Sunday is May 25th. A sign-up sheet is posted in the Parish Hall.

Connie's Sermons On-Line From time to time, Connie has had requests for copies of her sermons. Connie has agreed to make her sermons available in written form. You can view her latest sermon (Good Friday, March 21st) here. A small but growing collection of them is now posted for your convenience.

Relay 4 Life: If you wish to make a donation for Relay 4 Life, checks may be made out to the American Cancer Society, (put Relay 4 Life in the memo line). Donations may be put in the collection plate or dropped by the office. All of Grace’s donations will be taken to the Relay 4 Life event on June 6th-7th at Tabb High School.

Rite-13 Words of Encouragement: Sunday school will soon be over and the students in the Rite-13 class will celebrate their transition from childhood into “womanhood” and “manhood” at the church picnic on June 8th. We are asking the adult members of Grace (both young and old) to send the students some special words of encouragement—a verse from the Bible, a line from a song, a truth you live by or just some special words that have helped you through life. The words of encouragement do not have to be addressed to each individual student. You can send one note and the Rite-13 teachers will duplicate the note and insert a copy into each student's 'memory book'. Please e-mail your special message to John and Sara Tartala at tartsp@cox.net by May 5th, or leave your message in the Christian Education box in the church office.
